Create your own AI girlfriend: character, chat and cost

Creating your own AI girlfriend starts with a character you would actually want to talk to. Appearance gets you through the builder; personality, conversation style and the way a service handles context decide whether you want to return tomorrow.

1. Decide what the character is for

Write one sentence about the interaction you want: a steady chat partner, a character for collaborative fiction, or a visual character whose images matter as much as the conversation. That choice tells you which controls to inspect. A companion builder may emphasize looks and voice; a roleplay platform may give you a greeting, scenario, persona and world notes.

2. Give the character a few durable details

3. Write a first message that starts a scene

A useful greeting invites a response. "Mara has just found a box of old cinema tickets and asks which film you would watch together" gives both of you something to do. A greeting that only describes how attractive the character is leaves the model guessing what should happen next.

4. Test the chat before adding paid extras
