Most AI girlfriend sites spit out a face and a two-line bio and call it a character. HeyGF has people write them. Kayla the Tampa bartender, Freya the Copenhagen lingerie model and Fiona the German dominatrix all come with a backstory, a mood and, unusually, boundaries of their own. The pitch is that chemistry takes a bit of work, so she won't necessarily hand you everything in the first five messages. For some that's the whole appeal. Others will find it gets in the way.

It's strictly realistic. There's no anime line-up, and the cast leans glossy and Instagram-ready, with a fantasy shelf further down (a Mongolian war-leader, a Neo-Lagos netrunner) for when the bartender wears thin. Don't fancy any of them? The builder does looks, body, personality, voice, accent and a backstory, and your girl ends up with the same features as the house cast.

Pictures are the main event. Ask for a selfie mid-chat and it lands in seconds, and because each character gets her own image model, she still looks like herself in the twentieth one. The Studio lets you take the wheel, with a prompt builder, aspect ratios, re-rolls, animation and an optional reference image for the pose or outfit. It only works on HeyGF's own characters, not on photos of real people, which keeps it on the right side of our listing policy. Voice messages and short videos round it off.

Basic chat is free with no card, and signing up gets you one free image. Past that it's Casual at $9.99, Closer at $19.99 or Exclusive at $39.99 a month, or $8.33, $15.83 and $29.17 a month billed as a single yearly payment. Every plan says unlimited messages and NSFW, but the extra pictures, videos and Studio renders draw on a coin allowance (150, 350 or 800 a month), with top-ups when you run out. Each girl's full photo gallery only unlocks on a yearly plan. Billing goes through under a neutral name. Take a month first and see how fast the coins go, then go yearly if she's a keeper.
